Lana Trotovšek

Lana Trotovšek is originally from Slovenia, and is a prizewinner at many international competitions. She has performed throughout Europe both as a recitalist and soloist with orchestras in major halls such as the Konzerthaus in Vienna; Teatro la Fenice in Venice; Concertgebouw Amsterdam; London’s Kings Place, and St. John’s Smith Square.

She has premiered and recorded works for violin and orchestra that were specially written for her and is frequently heard on radio and television in Slovenija. Her performance of Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Lana was a student of Ruggiero Ricci at Salzburg’s Mozarteum and has participated in master classes with such eminent musicians as Ivry Gitlis, Ida Haendel, Pierre Amoyal, Tasmin Little, Gyorgy Pauk, Edith Peinemann, Bernard Greenhouse and Menahem Pressler. Lana also studied with Vasko Vassilev and Rivka Golani at Trinity College of Music and then at the Royal College of Music with Itzhak Rashkovsky.

Aside from her work with the Badke Quartet, Lana is also a member of the Greenwich Trio. They were described by Bernard Greenhouse, a legendary cellist and a founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio, as “the number one trio!”. The Greenwich Trio gains appraisal for their numerous performances throughout the UK, Italy, Austria, Germany, USA, Netherlands, Spain, Croatia and Slovenia to critical and public acclaim. In 2009 they were chosen to perform recitals in a series of concerts in the Royal Venues in Spain for Her Majesty the Queen, organised by Patrimonio National.

Lana was the recipient of the Preseren Award of University, which is the highest recognition for artistic contribution in the Republic of Slovenia.

Lana
